After the rather traumatic flight (Turbulence, Tears and Terrible food) we arrived in Caracas. The temperature as we walked out the airport was 31 degrees, which was quit a pleasant shock. We then met our couchsurfing host Marco, who immediately made us feel welcome. He drove us to Maracay, 2 hours from Caracas, and invited us into his wonderful home, where we met his brother Jose and their mother. We had a lovely evening with them, made some traditional Venezualian food, and then passed out......

Maracay

The fact that you felt welcome is probably worth a thousand tears. Hope the sun, adventures and the people you meet will give you all the energy you need to keep on going! Hello Pi and Mj, this is the second time we've written this,as the first one was somehow "misplaced" Ha. Glad you are safe and sound on Venezuelan soil, Marco and family sound amazing, what a good start to a wonderful journey! At least theres no more flying for a few months :) Looking forward to following the blog and catching up with you soon!
